ASSOCIATE ENGINEER, DESIGN

SUMMARY
Design and support new, modified, or improved vehicle components, and basic parts in accordance with engineering standards and government contract requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with vehicle layouts, schematics, and component part drawings with supporting calculations, i.e., weight distribution, etc.
- Select parts and/or design components for cost and quality-conscious design including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
- Provide technical assistance and production support on specific truck prototype, pilot or production programs.
- Generate and process bills of material, assembly drawings, change notices, change proposals, and Continuous Improvement Requests (CIR).
- Consult with suppliers, customers, and members of Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Assembly, Service, Testing, Quality Control, and Marketing departments.
- Utilize various state-of-the-art-engineering tools, i.e., a personal computer (PC) and (CAD) equipment, in assigned projects as applicable.
- Associate's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 plus years of related experience
- Mechanical skills inventory will be required to determine mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency in SolidWorks desired.

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

SUMMARY
The Procurement Specialist position involves technical and specialized work in the volume purchasing of equipment, materials and supplies. Responsibilities include requisitioning and purchase of supplies and equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior and requires the use of independent judgment and initiative in the preparation and review of specifications, the receipt of bids or quotations, and the checking of bills, invoices and goods against specifications. Performance of duties requires knowledge of automotive and military purchasing policy and procedure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives, examines and processes requisitions; prepares bid specifications and other necessary documents related to the purchase of supplies, materials and equipment; Locates source of supply, and places orders with appropriate bidder(s).
- Compares costs and evaluates the quality and suitability of supplies, materials and equipment.
- Interviews and corresponds with vendors; keeps informed of new products and market conditions and trends.
- Confers with and assists officials of all departments to determine purchasing needs and specifications.
Maintains records on purchase price information on both open market and contract purchases and revises these as conditions changes;
- Obtains quotations on open market purchases.
- Analyzes purchasing trends to determine if an agency contract or statewide contract would benefit the company.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of five (5) years working in a procurement position
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Considerable knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures and of the techniques of specification writing.
- Considerable knowledge of a variety of automotive and military materials, the best sources, and appropriate prices for the procurement of such goods.
- Considerable knowledge of methods of analyzing supplies and materials.
- Some knowledge of the application of bookkeeping principles and methods of the keeping of procurement records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Peachtree Accounting Software
